The results of a clinical study, from the Cornell University in Minnesota, was recently published in the Journal of Obesity. The two year, 162 person study concluded that: People who tracked their weight each day and recorded their daily weight where more effective in losing weight and keeping the lost weight off.weigh-yourself-daily

Whether you weigh yourself in the morning or in the evening or even in the middle of the day, you must teach yourself a new habit of taking your weight each and every day at the same time.

That the weight is kept off is an important finding as other studies indicate that people who lose weight tend to yoyo up and down but that people who weigh themselves each day and record their weight in a dairy or log, on a daily basis, are far more likely to lose weight as well as keep the lost weight off.

Scientists believe that the reason for this behavioral link is that people who develop a daily weigh and recording habit are more frequently (and regularly) reminded to eat less. They are constantly and consistently imprinted to eat more healthy, make better choices and to be able to focus more effectively on their own goals of losing weight.
